writer. blogger. believer.
Bijou Mwamba is a 22 year-old rape victim and refugee from D.R. Congo who comes to the Texan home of Prophet Thomas and Bethany, a seemingly loving couple who are profoundly religious. They’ve helped refugees before and Bijou believes she is finally safe from the horrors she escaped from. Only, Thomas and Bethany aren’t what they seem.
After meeting another refugee that Thomas and Bethany “helped” named Justine, Bijou must make a choice to continue ignoring the crimes of her “saviors” or take charge of her own life once and for all.
I was born and raised in Paris, France to Congolese parents, and moved to the U.S in 1999.
I’m a writer, blogger, and am also a full-time English Instructor at Arizona State University . I’ve taught a variety of classes from English Composition, Creative Writing, and Humanities.
I love write about topics that are sometimes considered “dark”, but my writing mainly falls into Women’s fiction and sometimes Christian fiction.
Most importantly, I am a believer, a wife, and a mother. I currently live in the Phoenix, Arizona area with my family.
